Why we reset the nervous system
Most of us are not tired in the way sleep fixes. We are stuck in a body that never got the signal that the day was over.
Your nervous system has two gears it moves between all day. One gets you through the deadline, the icy highway, the hard conversation. The other digests your lunch, repairs tissue, and lets you fall asleep without rehearsing tomorrow. Neither is good or bad. The trouble starts when the first gear stops letting go.
When that happens, the signs are ordinary enough that most people ignore them. Shallow breathing. A jaw that aches by mid-afternoon. Waking at 3am for no reason. Digestion that has quietly gone sideways. Feeling wired at bedtime and flattened at noon.
A reset is not a treatment for a disease. It is a deliberate hour where the body is given enough safety, warmth, and stillness that it drops back into the second gear on its own. That is all. We do not force it. We create the conditions and then get out of the way.
At nervae, that looks like a warm room, low light, unhurried touch, and slow breathing. Reflexology work through the feet. Sometimes nothing more than lying still while someone keeps time for you. People often say the strangest part is how little happens — and how different the next two days feel.
You do not need a diagnosis to come in. You need an hour where nothing is asked of you.
If you are curious, start with one session and notice what your sleep does that night. That is usually the first thing to answer.
